Every expert puzzle has exactly one solution, but finding it will require systematic candidate tracking, pattern recognition, and patience. Expect solve times of 30 minutes to over an hour.

Advanced Solving Strategies
Expert puzzles start with only 20 to 24 given numbers. Basic scanning might fill just 5 to 10 cells. The bulk of the solving happens through candidate elimination: filling in pencil marks meticulously and applying intermediate to advanced techniques.
Essential techniques for expert grids: hidden singles, pointing pairs, box-line reduction, naked pairs and triples, and X-Wing. Some grids will also require swordfish or XY-Wing patterns. If these terms are new, start with our tips page which explains them with a progression path.
Consider printing expert puzzles in large print mode — one puzzle per page gives you room to write detailed pencil marks. A mechanical pencil is essential at this level.
